what to expect
Each Moraine View R&R retreat is designed to foster physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual resilience through education and therapies closely associated with each domain. We strive to provide individualized activities to meet the needs of our Veterans. The following activities are available based on the needs of those attending and the type of retreat we are facilitating.
Overall Goal
Our goal at the end of a Moraine View R&R retreat is to have increased individual resilience, through knowledge and experience, in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual domains. This combination is designed to assist Veterans in developing self-care techniques and help them further their mental health journey.
Education
A foundational and fundamental understanding of how the human body, mind, and soul function is the basis for resiliency education
offered at each retreat. Our team of independent contractors and staff brings valuable knowledge
and experience to the varying services and programs provided.
Therapy
We use the term therapy to encompass any activity that allows for a positive outlet for our participants. Whether in the form of work, recreation, leisure, or relaxation, Moraine View R&R retreats offer a unique blend of therapies for everyone to experience key components of self-care, which can be further explored after departing the retreat.
On-site Counseling
Moraine View R&R believes in the power of professional counseling and encourages participants to meet with a professional counselor, when they are ready. Upon request, participants will receive support from a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Each retreat is individualized based on the needs and requests from participants. Veterans can request and arrange one-on-one and group counseling sessions prior to attendance. These sessions will be programmed throughout a retreat to provide psychological support.
